About me

I am an Assistant Professor of English at Utica University, New York. I have a Bachelor’s and a teaching degree in English from the Federal University in Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, where I also acquired a Master’s Degree in Literary Studies. I completed my PhD in Literature, Theory, and Culture at Purdue University in 2022. My expertise revolves around literature across the Americas, encompassing North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. I am passionate about reading and writing fiction, and I have published several novels and short stories.

Teaching Philosophy

I completed my Ph.D. program at Purdue University in May 2022, and since then, I have continued on my mission to educate and motivate students from a variety of majors at Utica University, New York.

I believe the biggest challenge for any instructor is having students who think they do not belong or do not need a particular course – in other words, unmotivated students.

New Novel "A Cidade Sob Nós"

Dara is about to leave the orphanage where she grew up and join society. At least, that’s what she hopes, since this society is divided between those with golden skin who live in luxurious underground cities, and people like her, who must survive on the surface. But from the moment she leaves the orphanage, everything will be a mystery to Dara.
