TA, PURDUE UNIVERSITY
Taught a variety of versions of Composition 106, Accelerated writing course English 108, Introduction to Film Studies (English 286), and Science Fiction and Fantasy (English 373). Among my duties, I can highlight preparing lessons and assignments, grading, tutoring students, and participating in teaching development workshops.

ESL TEACHER, CULTURA INGLESA LTDA
Taught ESL classes for Brazilian students – young learners, teens, young adults, and adults; prepared students for examinations such as TOEFL, Cambridge FIRST, ADVANCED, and PROFICIENCY; participated in teaching development workshops and seminars.

June/14 – July/14

AFRO-BRAZILIAN HISTORY AND CULTURE TEACHER, UFMG
Taught a 180 hours course in Afro-Brazilian History and Culture for Capes-Fipse exchange students in Brazil; integrated classroom activities with cultural trips to nearby cities, museums, and parks; worked collaboratively with other graduate students who would give workshops on certain aspects of Afro-Brazilian History and Culture, such as Hip Hop culture.

PORTUGUESE TUTOR, UNC AT CHARLOTTE
Tutored Portuguese students from Basic to Advanced; participated in the production and correction of tests.

February/06 – December/08

INTERN, AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM AT UFMG
Worked in the Affirmative Action Program at UFMG; developed Teaching Materials for ESL learning; taught English for undergrad students of the Affirmative Action Program; participated in many congresses and seminars, including Abrapui International Congress in 2008, and the Brazilian Congress of Black Researchers in 2006 and 2008, presenting partial results from the research in all situations.

ACTIVITIES

Volunteer as an English/Portuguese – Portuguese English Translator for a non-profit organization called NCBI, on both times they went to Belo Horizonte Brazil to teach a workshop on fighting violence and prejudice.

Volunteered as an ESL teacher for Young Learners at a Local Elementary school in my hometown, Belo Horizonte – Brazil.

I love writing fiction. I am planning to get my first book published next year.
